Ridgewood Cluster, North Reston

Ridgewood Cluster

Ridgewood Cluster, North Reston

"Masterpieces in the Making." That was the original tagline for Ridgewood Cluster in North Reston, and the claim is fitting. Designer/developer Van Metre won many awards for overall community excellence, interior design, and energy conservation initiatives. Built in 1989, Ridgewood Cluster proudly carries on the tradition of excellence with a neighborhood that elegantly blends with the natural environment.

These richly appointed, 3-level townhomes have lofts and cathedral ceilings to add space and visual appeal. Each home has a brick and cedar siding exterior, and many have a garage. There are five models of townhomes throughout the cluster--some offer luxurious master suites, others offer fabulous areas for entertaining. There is a home here for whatever your style of living is!

Ridgewood Cluster is located on Great Owl Drive, right off Reston Parkway between Baron Cameron and Route 7. This cluster is close to North Point Village shopping, and just a quick trip down Reston Parkway to Reston Town Center and Lake Anne Plaza.

Reston's Used Book Shop

Are you a book lover? Then Reston is a good place for you. Lake Anne Plaza is home to one of the most beloved used book stores in Northern Virginia--Reston's Used Book Shop, the place "Where Books and People Meet." And the people who frequent this mom-and-pop gem, well they're the FRUBs (friends of Reston's Used Book Shop). FRUBS don't just buy books. FRUBS love the store, drop in a lot, and sometimes contribute ideas or a little time.

Reston's Used Book Shop was founded in 1978 by Restonians Sue Schram and Sue Wensell (known as "the Sues"). In 1999, Bud and Susan Burwell took the reigns and continued the community tradition inspired by the original owners. Bud and Susan have created a haven for book lovers of all ages. The store includes a literary living room in the shop where you can snuggle with a cup of coffee or attend one of the stores frequent lectures or events. You can even stop by for an afternoon of bluegrass music once a month.

The charming homes are located with in walking distance of South Lakes Village Center, and are a short drive to the Dulles Toll Road and Reston Metro Station.

Lakewinds consists of 93 brick and cedar townhomes, of which about 70% on the lakefront. In fact, many residents have small boats or barges to take advantage of the lake. The 3-level 3 and 4 bedroom homes were built between 1975 and 1978. Lakewinds is divided into two clusters, Lakewinds I and Lakewinds II. Each home has assigned parking spaces; the Lakewinds II townhomes have one carport spot.

The local schools are Terraset Elementary School, Langston Hughes Middle School, and South Lakes High School--all of which are within walking distance.
